A Change in our policy

My post here on deleting so many upcoming stories was result of frustration, I had launched this site for Indian content and its name is also very India. But you can see here more than 70% posts are from outside of India. About 30% of visits coming from USA. I was discarding so many stories because they were not related to India. But as you know I am only one who manage on this site and on some other sites as well so I decided to cancel the discarding of stories that are not related to India. It was very tough job for me to delete stories because of non Indian content it was totally waste of energy. Now most of the users from any country re welcome they can submit stories on most of the topics.

But one thing is sure we are still discarding stories were they are appropriate for general audience. We are still banning who keep posting inappropriate content. I think this will never stop because it an ongoing war.

So again thanks and happy bookmarking.

Status Update Feature has been added

I am happy to announce that a new feature has been added to India Bookmarking. This feature is similar to Twitter and Facebook update. You can leave your updates on your profile. When yo submit a new story an update is automatically posted on your profile. You also can write on other profile as well. Every update has a permalink and time stamp. When you leave a comment it also will be automatically added to your status update.

So now users can post their updates , so this service can be used to send message to friends.

Click on the picture to enlarge it.

You can mention username of a user in your status update and link will be generated to that users as you see it on Twitter.

These updates are searchable, you can search them from search box.

We deleted upcoming stories with some of Good submissions (Sorry)

I am sorry to say but by mistake while I was cleaning upcoming spams I deleted some of the good submissions. I also deleted some of my stories in bulk. So you are requested to submit again your stories.

To maintain quality of our bookmarking India we take serious actions time to time. Next time when we will do this we will publish good submission on homepage first then we will take a hammer.

We are blocking users, blocking domain and blocking IP address ranges to prevent spam. We are very strict and have zero percent tolerance against spammers.

We again apologize for this action.

Insights Blog Started

When I launched IlistIndia first, I had not thought to launch insights blog, but after few month back I think an insights blog is necessary and useful. There are many reasons to start and insight blog and it is also official blog for ilistinida.

As it is an official blog going to publish insights, I have no plans to make it looking professional, I want to keep it simple. I am using Europe theme.
